Thottada Beach

Thottada Beach is located towards the north of Kerala near Kannur, and you can stay just steps away from this beautiful sandy beach. This quiet, serene beach stretches for around 800 meters with fine golden sand, a backdrop of tropical greenery and it also has great sunsets. Towards the northern end the beach has a small river which forms a lagoon.

If you go for a swim, stay near the shore. The ocean floor drops as you walk out, and the currents can be strong. Thottada does not get crowded, although some locals do come on the weekends.

If you are looking for a quiet stay, this is a great place and largely unspoilt. One popular place is the Thottada Beach House, which is a private wooden house right by the beach where you can stay. This is a trip where you can get in touch with nature and enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the surrounding area.
