Orewa Beach
Orewa Beach is a long, sandy beach on the Hibiscus Coast, about 40 minutes north of Auckland. The three-kilometre stretch of golden sand is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, and paddleboarding, with generally gentle waves and plenty of space to enjoy the water.
The beach is backed by a mix of grassy reserves, picnic areas, and a coastal walkway, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing stroll or a seaside picnic. At low tide, the sand extends even further, creating wide, open spaces for walking and beach games.
During summer, Orewa Beach attracts families and holidaymakers looking for an easy escape from the city. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards this time of year adding to its appeal as a safe swimming spot.
The nearby town of Orewa has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, with cafés, restaurants, and shops just a short walk from the water.
