Takapuna Beach
Takapuna is sometimes referred to as the unofficial ‘capital’ of Auckland’s North Shore - a series of coastal suburbs across Shoal Bay from the city centre. The Takapuna Beach area is the centre of the North Shore’s nightlife, being home to many bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. It is also the main shopping centre of the North Shore.
The beach here is a fine stretch of white sand looking out to Rangitoto Island, a substantial volcanic island which emerged from the sea as recently as 600 years ago.
Takapuna is a good family-friendly choice with safe swimming and lots of facilities such as picnic spots and play areas.

Takapuna Beach Reviews
Takapuna Beach
This is a great beach all year round though rarely has significant surf. As an inner city beach its very cool. Great cafe at the northern end too.
