Rodgers Beach
Rodgers Beach is a quiet, unspoiled stretch of white sand on the Aruba’s southern coast, not far from the town of San Nicolas. It has calm, clear waters that are perfect for swimming, and the lack of large crowds making it something of a hidden gem. The beach is lined with cacti and palm trees, which offer some natural shade, adding to its relaxed atmosphere.
Unlike the more developed beaches on Aruba, Rodgers Beach has a laid-back, local feel. There are a few fishing boats anchored offshore, and the beach is popular among island residents. The nearby Baby Beach, which is better known, often draws more visitors, leaving Rodgers Beach as a peaceful alternative.
The water here is shallow and usually gentle, making it a great spot for a refreshing swim or snorkel. If you fancy the latter, there is a dive shop located right by the beach.
Rodgers Beach is named after a British man, Captain Rodgers. He set up an oil refinery (which can be seen just along the coast) back in the 1920s. Whilst it might not be the prettiest backdrop on Aruba, it did bring a certain degree of prosperity to the island.
While there aren’t many facilities directly on the beach, its location near San Nicolas means food and drinks are just a short drive away. It’s a great place to experience Aruba’s natural beauty away from the busier tourist spots.
