El Playazo de Rodalquilar is a wide, unspoiled beach set in Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. It is known for its golden sand, clear waters, and scenic backdrop. The beach is about 400 metres long and has shallow waters, making it a good spot for swimming and snorkelling.

Unlike more developed beaches, Playazo has no bars or restaurants, so visitors should bring their own food and water.

One of its most distinctive features is the presence of the Fort of San Ramón, a small 18th-century fortress built to defend the coast from pirates. The volcanic cliffs and rock formations around the beach add to its rugged beauty.

The beach is accessible by car via a dirt road from Rodalquilar, and parking is available nearby. It is less crowded than other beaches in Cabo de Gata, especially outside peak summer months, making it a good option for those looking for a quieter coastal spot.
