Jalama Beach County Park

Jalama Beach is set on a remote stretch of the Santa Barbara County coastline. It is a rugged and windswept expanse of sand known for its natural beauty, good surf, and relative remoteness. Tucked away at the end of a long, winding road off Highway 1, this hidden gem offers visitors a true escape from the busier beaches of Southern California.

Jalama beach is a favourite among surfers, thanks to its powerful waves and consistent swells rolling in from the Pacific. Fishing is also popular, with anglers casting from the shore or rocky outcrops in search of halibut, perch, and sea bass.

The wide, sandy shoreline lends itself to long walks, with dramatic coastal bluffs framing the landscape. Wildlife is abundant, with dolphins often seen offshore and occasional sightings of migrating gray whales.

Jalama Beach is also home to a well-equipped campground, making it an ideal spot for a beachside getaway. Visitors can enjoy a night under the stars, falling asleep to the sound of the waves.
