Praia de Abricó is a nudist beach in the western Grumari neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro, and is the city’s only beach to allow naturists. Facing small islands just offshore, the beach has a broad expanse of light-coloured sands frequently used by families resident in the area. It has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere as a result.

Its sands are edged by large boulders which continue in places into the surf, but given the 1.5 kilometre (1 mile) length of Praia de Abricó, there is still usually plenty of space to find a good spot to sunbathe.

Surrounded by verdant cliffs the beach is not overlooked, and entry into the Atlantic Ocean is of a gentle gradient, although waves can be rough. On the weekends, it is patrolled by lifeguards. Kiosks provide snacks and drinks. Its location means it can be difficult to reach for those without their own transport.
